Urban Regeneration
Urban regeneration for tomorrow¡¯s communities
Socio-economic uplift is at the heart of our approach to urban regeneration. We focus on creating places people can afford and want to live in¡ªthat are accessible, connected, safe and provide access to both green space and key amenities.
Urban regeneration relies on a collective vision, balancing commercial practicality with viability. How do we help? We bring the public and private sector together. Working collaboratively, our teams deliver change and outcomes that are anchored in commercial reality.
With a government-driven objective to deliver 1.5 million new homes by the end of the 2020s, a temporary accommodation crisis impacting thousands of families, and the finances of local authorities¡ªcombined with a new focus on grey belts¡ªthe economic and social case for urban regeneration has never been stronger.
As a strategic advisor, we provide guidance to city leaders and private developers, combined authorities and investors, and local authorities and operators looking to support and deliver change. From the analysis and insights that identify the strategic economic opportunity to site viability studies, masterplanning, and detailed design and construction, we¡¯re there at every step.
Our national team can draw on our global experience of delivering town and city regeneration, and with our regional office network, we also have strong local knowledge and relationships to call on.
We care about communities because they¡¯re ours, too.
Demonstrating economic and social benefits
Our economic development specialists partner with the public and private sectors to deliver research that makes socio-economic proposals for development. Creating business cases that secure funding for urban regeneration, we evidence the economic and social benefits and how local community infrastructure needs to be strengthened. We understand how communities are changing, looking at demographics, changing attitudes to mobility, the importance of green space, amenities, and the opportunity for employment clusters. In a world where reliance on vehicles is shrinking¡ªand people seek more sustainable modes of travel¡ªthe importance of connectivity to transport and wider mobility networks is critical. Regeneration schemes in proximity to transport nodes bring the most value and success. Our transport planners advise at a combined authority, city, and town-wide level, demonstrating how to develop integrated, multi-modal transport and mobility solutions that drive economic growth and support regeneration. Our planning, sustainability, and engineering design consultants work together to examine the viability of a site and create platforms for successful development. We¡¯re advising and creating solutions for ground conditions, access to power, drainage, and how to retain existing building fabric and heritage. Our team also focuses on monitoring air quality, designing for fire safety, and shaping clean energy and low-carbon strategies. We take schemes through planning, the Building Safety Act, and oversee contractor appointment.Homes England framework provider
