July 31, 2025

Sabina shares her experience achieving professional and personal growth through collaborative, impactful projects

Tell us about your role¡

As a chartered landscape architect (CMLI) and BREEAM?AP at Â鶹´«Ã½, my work spans from strategic masterplanning through to detailed construction delivery. I have coordinated the design of biodiversity corridors and green infrastructure across multiple landmark projects. I help craft inclusive, biodiverse public realm and infrastructure solutions aligned with long-term environmental and social objectives.

What attracted you to a career at Â鶹´«Ã½?

Stantec¡¯s mission to design inclusive, sustainable communities resonated with me. Their global reach and integrated approach have enabled me to work on impactful, multidisciplinary projects¡ªfrom landscape-led developments to EV infrastructure¡ªeach contributing to a more resilient and environmentally conscious future.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

I thrive on turning landscape visions into reality¡ªfrom restoring brownfield land at Air Heathrow to enhancing biodiversity at Shinfield Studios to delivering a future-proof electric vehicle (EV) facility at Weybridge. Collaborating with planners, engineers, ecologists, contractors, local authorities, and communities to create resilient, equitable public spaces is the most rewarding part of my role.

How has your personal and professional development been supported at Â鶹´«Ã½?

Stantec has nurtured my growth not just professionally, but personally. From CMLI and BREEAM accreditation to full funding for subscriptions and exams, I¡¯ve felt truly supported every step of the way. As a Taiwanese landscape architect trained in the UK, I¡¯ve also benefited from full visa sponsorship¡ªreflecting Â鶹´«Ã½¡¯s commitment to diversity, global mobility, and cross-disciplinary opportunities. The Developing Professionals Group (DPG) and monthly Global Coffee Connections have expanded my international network, strengthened my leadership skills, and empowered me to contribute meaningfully to the company.

Stantec empowers you to flourish¡ªprofessionally and personally.

What has been the standout project for you during your time at Â鶹´«Ã½?

Linmere in Houghton?Regis has been the heart of my journey at Â鶹´«Ã½ since I joined in 2022. I¡¯ve helped shape a landscape-led vision for 5,150 homes across multiple phases. Each stage brings new opportunities to create inclusive green spaces, sustainable drainage systems (SuDS), biodiversity corridors, and playful environments for all ages. I¡¯ve loved working with design teams and clients to bring this evolving community to life.

What are your ambitions for your future at Â鶹´«Ã½?

From my early career at an economic think tank to becoming a landscape architect, I¡¯ve always been driven to provide a lasting, positive impact. At Â鶹´«Ã½, I aim to grow as a design leader, shaping inclusive, resilient environments through sustainable thinking and cross-cultural collaboration. I¡¯m excited to contribute to international projects that connect communities and inspire solutions on a global scale.

What are your passions outside of work?

Outside of work, I enjoy yoga, aerial silks, hiking, travelling, painting, crafting, and cooking. I love exploring new places, learning new things, and volunteering¡ªwhether through gardening during Â鶹´«Ã½ in the Community Week or as a compassionate companion with the NHS. These experiences bring meaning to how I connect with people, nature, and the world around me.

Why should others join the Â鶹´«Ã½ team?

Join Â鶹´«Ã½ if you want to design with purpose, grow with integrity, and be part of something bigger. It¡¯s a place where your ideas are valued, your growth is nurtured, and your work makes a real impact. Whether shaping sustainable places, collaborating across borders, or giving back to communities, Â鶹´«Ã½ empowers you to flourish¡ªprofessionally and personally¡ªwhile helping to create a better future for all.

At Â鶹´«Ã½, we put people first. For Sabina, that means working at a place where your ideas are valued, your growth is nurtured, and your work makes a real impact.?
