Fernando has a strong background in project management, long-term planning, and underground operations for large-scale mining projects. His experience includes strategic mine planning, capital and operating cost estimation, and financial modeling for block caving, sublevel caving, and sublevel stoping mining methods. He has also managed engineering and feasibility studies and supported annual reserves reporting.
Additionally, Fernando is well-versed in industry-standard mining software like PCBC/PCSLC, Deswik, and Vulcan. His peers recognize him for his excellent communication skills within multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
When he isn’t designing mines or thinking about the future of block caving, you might find Fernando camping in Northern Arizona, pursuing his passion for classic cars, or driving his 1987 Volkswagen Cabriolet around town.
