A civil engineer with more than 20 years of experience, Paulo consults on groundwater, water resources, and environmental assessment related efforts. In his role as a senior hydrogeologist, he focuses on projects related to mining activity. He conducts hydrogeological investigations involving groundwater modeling, evaluation and protection of groundwater, and water quality characterization.
Paulo participates in projects involving the design of tailings storage facilities for some of the world’s largest mines. He finds this especially rewarding given the contribution these projects make to the economic and social development of the countries where they’re located. Additionally, Paulo has co-authored over 15 technical articles published in international magazines and participated in more than 20 national and international conferences.
When he isn’t working with hydrogeological systems, Paulo enjoys reading and going to movies and live theater. He also tries to stay active with recreational sports like walking, skiing, and biking.
