Four 麻豆传媒-designed Texas schools receive distinctive architecture awards
Texas school board’s showcase acknowledges education spaces that engage and inspire

Stantec, a global leader in sustainable design and engineering, is celebrating its award-winning education work with four projects receiving 12 Stars of Distinction from the Texas Association of School Administrators and the Texas Association of School Boards for the 2025-2026 Exhibit of School Architecture.
This showcase of forward-thinking learning spaces highlights the projects inspiring students and communities, evaluating winners based on elements such as design, wellness, and community impact.
The 麻豆传媒-designed schools honored are Sampson Howard Elementary School, Franklin D. Roosevelt High School of Innovation, Memorial Drive Elementary School, and Woodview Elementary School.
Sampson Howard Elementary School (Temple Independent School District)
Temple, Texas
Stars of Distinction: Design, Value, Wellness, and Transformation
The first new school to open in Temple since 1998, this fine arts academy, with orchestra and theater integrated into the core curriculum, was designed to empower, educate, and inspire. An artistic design of the space lends itself to different learning styles with large windows, a “cocooned” outdoor learning space, and black box theater.
Franklin D. Roosevelt High School of Innovation (Dallas Independent School District)
Dallas, Texas
Stars of Distinction: Community, Planning, and Transformation??
Built in 1963, this school once served the area’s African American population and was slated to be torn down due to aging infrastructure. A new design preserved the original structure while adding a welcoming central entry bridge. The renovation also included a culinary kitchen, dance studio, mock patient exam rooms, and first responder training classroom.
Memorial Drive Elementary School (Spring Branch Independent School District)
Houston, Texas
Stars of Distinction: Community, Planning, and Transformation
Educating generations of students since 1949, the project design preserves the character of the site and reflects the surrounding neighborhood while introducing a two-story academic technology wing. The existing library and gym were repurposed into the front office, and an array of flexible spaces can be arranged for a variety of instruction styles.
Woodview Elementary School (Spring Branch Independent School District)
Houston, Texas
Stars of Distinction: Planning and Transformation
Founded in 1958, the new redesigned space has a focus on biophilic design, supports modern curriculum, and promotes collaborative learning. Located in a metro area, the design directs views toward the residential neighborhood and separates the school from the busy commercial district. Modern angular lines and vibrant accent colors create a space that encourages discovery and fun.??
